Throwing pebbles

This event is held every year in the Hajj season in the Makkah region , where Muslim pilgrims throw pebbles against three walls This step is considered one of the acts of pilgrimage that must be performed during the pilgrimage, which is a symbolic renewal of the pilgrimage of Abraham, peace be upon him, and we find that three pillars are stoned, which is a representation of the temptation to disobey God as well as the preservation of the Prophet Ismail, peace be upon him

While the three pebbles are located in the Shaar of Mina, they are

The  first minor and middle Jamrah, which is considered near the Al-Khayf Mosque after Mecca

The  Great Jamrah, which is Jamrat Al-Aqaba, which is at the end of Mina near Makkah Al-Mukarramah

And every year on the blessed Eid al-Adha on the tenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, on that day the pilgrims must strike one of the three Jamarat, which is “ Jamrat Al-Aqaba or the Great Jamrah ” , and that is with seven pebbles And when the pilgrims finish stoning on the day of Eid, here every pilgrim must cut his hair or shave it, while in the following two days he must hit each of the three walls with seven pebbles, so that they are facing from east to west .  And the pilgrim is in about no less than 49 pebbles to throw, and more, even if he loses in some of the throws, and we find that some pilgrims stay in Mina for an extra day, and in that case they have to hit each stone seven times

We find that the pebbles that are used for stoning are usually collected in Muzdalifah, in the plain southeast of Mina, on the night before the first stoning, and it is also possible to collect them in Mina With regard to the wisdom of stoning the Jamarat, the scholars and scholars revealed that it means insulting and humiliating Satan, as well as forcing him in addition to working to show his opposition It came in the biography that the Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, came to him Satan in order to prevent him and prevent him from slaughtering our master Ismail, peace be upon him, and he threw seven pebbles in those places where the pilgrims throw the pebbles

What is the difference between stoning the Jamarat on the Day of Sacrifice and the Days of Tashreeq

There is a question about the difference between stoning the Jamarat on the Day of Sacrifice and the days of al-Tashreeq, and we will find that during the days of al-Tashreeq the pilgrim throws three Jamarat, starting with Jamarat al-Sughra, then al-Wusta, and then Jamarat al- Aqabah . during the day

The pilgrims spend three legislature on Mona, or possible to spend two days and may be for those who want to refineWe find that other than the number, there is also another difference in the timing of the stoning, as the stoning of Jamarat Al-Aqabah begins from sunrise to sunset, and that is from the day of sacrifice

But the weak, the sick, the elderly, and the like, here they go from Muzdalifah to Mina, and this is after the sunset of the night of the sacrifice. When they reach Jamarat al-Aqabah, it is permissible for them to throw it, and this means that it is possible to start stoning Jamarat al-Aqabah after midnight on the night of the sacrifice

While the time for stoning the Jamarat during the days of al-Tashreeq is from the sun’s zenith on the 11th , which is considered the time for the beginning of the noon prayer while it ends at sunset, and that is for those who have no excuse

But it is better to do the act of worship, and that is at the beginning of its time, and that is for the one who is able to do that, because of what he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did and said : “ Take your rituals from me

Conditions for stoning the Jamarat

There are a number of conditions that must be followed when throwing pebbles, the most important of which is that the pebbles are thrown into it, in addition to that it must be located in the circular basin, in addition to that, it must be thrown separated

Mafraqa means that the pilgrim throws one after one, and it is not correct for the pilgrims to throw the seven together with one hand, so in the case if he throws the seven with one hand, here it is counted as one throw only

But with regard to the order of stoning the Jamarat on the days of al-Tashreeq, it begins with the stoning of the Minor, after which it is the middle, and finally the Aqabah, and it is not necessary to do the opposite

And there are some mustahabb things that pilgrims can do, and since on the 11th of Dhul-Hijjah, which is the day following the Day of Sacrifice, and it is considered the second greatest of days with God, which he called “Al Qarr ” because people live on it and settle in the area of Mina, This is after they have finished performing the tawaaf al-ifaadah and al-Nahr, as well as they have rested, as it is among the desirable actions during which it is

 Doing forgiveness and supplication

The absolute takbeer, which is restricted to the backs of the written prayers

It is also necessary to say a lot, “ Our Lord, give us goodness in this world and goodness in the hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire

It should be noted that the pebbles that are thrown have specific specifications regarding their size. They should be larger than the size of a chickpea and also smaller than a hazelnut, and it is Sunnah to say the takbeer with each pebble by saying “ God is great

It is also from the Sunnah when stoning the Jamarat during the days of al-Tashreeq that the pilgrim stands for supplication, facing the direction of the qiblah, and that is after the first stoning of the Jamarat, which is called al-Soghra, in addition to making it on his left so that it is away from crowds, and he raises his hands to pray

He also does this after stoning the middle Jamrah, but it is placed on his right so that it is far from crowding. Here he must make his supplication long, and there is no supplication after stoning Jamarat al-‘Aqabah
